How I use your personal information
Last updated: 24 October 2026
Who I am
This website is run by Alex Sturge through AREO147 Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (No. 16233485), registered office 20 Crewe Road, Sandbach, Cheshire, CW11 4NE. AREO147 Limited is the data controller for the personal information described here. For any privacy question, email alex@alexsturge.co.uk.
What I collect
I only collect what you choose to give me when you get in touch by email, phone, LinkedIn or by booking a conversation: typically your name, email address, phone number, company name and anything you tell me about your business. If we work together, I will also hold the business contact details needed to deliver and invoice the work.
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not ask you to create an account.
How I use it, and why
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a conversation. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To deliver and invoice work we agree. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- To keep business and accounting records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
- To occasionally follow up about my services if we have already been in touch on business matters. Lawful basis: legitimate interests. You can ask me to stop at any time.
I do not sell your information or use it for automated decision-making.
Who I share it with
I use a small number of trusted providers to run my business, such as Google Workspace for email and calendar, my website hosting provider, and my accountant. They process information on my behalf under their own data protection terms. Some providers may store data outside the UK; where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK law. I will only share your information with anyone else if you ask me to or the law requires it.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within two years of our last contact. Client and financial records are kept for six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as UK law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how I use it, or receive a copy to give to someone else. Email alex@alexsturge.co.uk and I will respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
